#13 Falcons Down Cadets 89-72 on the Road

The 13th-ranked Albertus Magnus men's basketball team used an 89-72 victory over Norwich University on Thursday night to improve to 10-1 on the year and a perfect 5-0 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action.

The Falcons had six players register double figures led by Tavon Sledge (Spring Valley, N.Y.) with a game-high 18 points. Victor Ljuljdjuraj (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) added a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.  He added four blocked shots as well.

Senior James Jennings (Bridgeport, Conn.) contributed 14 points for Albertus, while Lemar Larsen (Waterbury, Conn.) and Jaqhawn Walters (Hartford, Conn.) added 11 points each, respectively. Julian Sanders (Trumbull, Conn.) tallied 10 points to round out the double-figure scorers.

The loss for the Cadets marks their sixth of the season as they dropped to 4-6 overall and 1-3 in league play.

The first half of tonight's contest was close throughout the first nine minutes of play as the far,e saw four lead changes before the score was knotted at 20 at the 10:37mark. Albertus put together a 10-2 run in a span of just under four minutes before extending its lead to 16 at 46-32 at the halftime break.

Albertus added to its lead in the second half and finished the night shooting 56.7% from the floor and 38.1% from behind the arc. Norwich shot 43.8% in the contest. The Falcons' largest lead of the night was 22 points which came in the second half of play.

The Falcons return to action on Saturday when they host Saint Joseph's College of Maine in a 3:00 p.m. contest.
