With a 99-72 win over Norwich University, the #9 Albertus Magnus men's basketball team extended its home-court winning streak to 51 games, which is the longest current streak in NCAA men's basketball (all levels).
The Falcons improve to 17-1 on the year with the Saturday afternoon victory, while they also improve to a perfect 11-0 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play. Norwich falls to 6-12 overall and 3-9 in league action.
The Falcons are now 19-12 all-time against the Cadets, including an 11-6 showing when playing in New Haven, Conn.
Victor Ljuljdjuraj (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) led all scorers with his 12th double-double of the season. He tallied 21 points and 12 rebounds to go along with five steals. He shot 7-of-10 from the floor.
All five Albertus starters registered double figures as Tavon Sledge (Spring Valley, N.Y.) also scored 21 points. He shot 7-of-16 from the floor and 7-of-9 from the free-throw line.
Lemar Larsen (Waterbury, Conn.) contributed with 11 points and five rebounds, while Eian Davis (Brooklyn, N.Y.) added 12 points, seven assists and five rebounds.
Alex Preckol led Norwich with 18 points on 7-of-11, while Gary Gladden added 11 points.
The Falcons also scored 29 points off of 21 Norwich turnovers.
Albertus will head on the road to Newton on Wednesday to take on Lasell College in a 7:00 p.m. contest. Albertus is 13-4 all-time against the Lasers and has won the last 13-straight meetings against the GNAC opponent.
