Falcons' Register 20th Win of the Season; Down Mustangs 95-59

For the fifth time in the last six seasons, the Albertus Magnus men's basketball team has registered 20 wins in a single season as the Falcons used a 95-59 victory over Mount Ida College on Tuesday night to improve to 20-1 on the year and 14-0 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play.

Albertus was led by Victor Ljuljdjuraj (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) with 22 points and Tavon Sledge (Spring Valley, N.Y.) with 21.  Ljuljdjuraj added 12 rebounds on the night as he shot 11-of-24 from the field.  Sledge was 7-of-16 from the floor, while teammate Julian Sanders (Trumbull, Conn.) added 10 points on 4-of-8 shooting in 22 minutes of work.

The loss is the Mustangs 16th loss of the season as they fall to 4-16 on the year and 2-11 in GNAC action. Mount Ida was led by Ethan Dujon with 16 points. 

Albertus shot 48.8% from the floor, while Mount Ida struggled, shooting just 29.9% on 22-of-55 from the field.  Albertus also out-rebounded the Mustangs 62-38.  The Falcons registered 21 points off of 16 Mount Ida turnovers.

The Falcons' largest lead was 36 points at the final buzzer of tonight's contest.

After a close opening to tonight's contest, Albertus put together a 17-5 run midway through the first half to help take control of the game.

Jaqhawn Walters (Hartford, Conn.) came off the bench for the Falcons to register nine points and 15 rebounds in 19 minutes of work. He added three steals and a 4-of-8 showing from the field.

Albertus will head to Providence on Saturday to take on Johnson & Wales (R.I.) in the Falcons' next GNAC match-up.
