Balanced Attack Leads Men's Basketball Past SUNY Canton on Senior Night

New Haven, Conn. - Behind four double-digit performances, including a team-high 31 points and 21 rebounds from senior Jaqhawn Walters (Hartford, Conn.), the Albertus Magnus College men's basketball team topped SUNY Canton, 84-72, Tuesday evening in non-conference play on Senior Night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Albertus Magnus jumped out to an early 9-0 lead before the Roos responded with a 10-2 run to get within 11-10 just over seven minutes into the contest. Canton took a 28-26 lead with 5:25 left in the opening half following a Brandon Adkisson jumper. The Falcons closed the half on a 17-4 run to take a 43-32 lead into intermission.

The Roos trimmed the deficit to six early in the second half but Albertus Magnus would extend its lead to as many as 21 before a late Canton run cut the final deficit to 13, 70-57. With 1:47 left to play, SUNY Canton battled to within nine, 79-70, on a three from Jordan Steward, but it wasn't enough as the hosts closed out regulation with a 5-2 run to seal the win.
