NEW HAVEN, Conn. – For the eighth time in program history, the Albertus Magnus College men's basketball team will play in the NCAA Division III Tournament, which is set to begin Friday, March 3.
The Falcons are 19-9 on the year and will face John Carroll University in the first round of the tournament at Oswego State University in Oswego, New York. Oswego State will also be playing a first-round game against Marymount (VA) University on Friday.
Albertus and John Carroll will meet for the first time in program history. Albertus enters the first round on a five-game winning streak and won its ninth Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championship this past Sunday after defeating the No. 1 nationally ranked University of Saint Joseph (CT), 83-79.
This is the Blue Streaks' 16th NCAA Tournament appearance. John Carroll last appeared in the NCAA Tournament in 2018, hosting a pod following an Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Championship. John Carroll enters Friday's match-up with a 22-4 overall record and has garnered a #2 ranking in the most recent Region VII rankings.
