Dawkins and Washington Receive GNAC All-Conference Nods

WINTHROP, Mass. - The duo of Terry Dawkins (Bronx, N.Y.) and senior Justice Washington (Hamden, Conn.) represented the Albertus Magnus College men's basketball team on the All-Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Teams, as Dawkins was named First Team and Washington Second Team.

Dawkins made his second career appearance on the All-Conference squad, picking up his first First Team honor after making Second Team last season as a senior. Dawkins was an unstoppable force for the Falcons this season, averaging a career-high 17.3 points and 8.0 rebounds per game, which ranked him third in the GNAC. This season he also recorded a career-high in steals per game (1.3 spg), defensive rebounds per game (4.8 drpg), offensive rebounds per game (3.2), field goal percentage (55.6%), and points per game (17.3 ppg). In addition, he tallied 25 games with 10+ points, including nine games with 20+ points, and posted 10 double-doubles. Dawkins also became the 19th player in program history to score 1,000 career points, doing so on Jan. 14 against Lasell University.

After recording a monstrous season for the blue-and-white, Washington earned his first All-Conference nod and recorded career highs in almost every major statistical category. The Hamden, Conn. native led the GNAC and the team in offensive rebounds (100), defensive rebounds (173), total rebounds (273), rebounds per game (10.5), and blocks (68). Washington also shot 61.7% from the charity stripe and 65.5% from the floor to rank first in the league. In addition, while averaging 10.9 points and 10.5 rebounds per game, he collected a team-high 13 double-doubles, including a 20-point, 20-rebound performance against Dean College.

In addition, sophomore guard Taufick Aziz (Ghana) was named to the GNAC All-Sportsmanship Team. Aziz made eight appearances for the Falcons, collecting six points, five rebounds, and a steal, to go along with two assists.
