Washington Named To NABC All-District Second Team

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Justice Washington (Hamden, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus College men's basketball team was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District 1 Second Team on Tuesday.

Washington had a standout season for the Falcons, averaging 16.7 points per game and 11.1 rebounds, which led the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC). Washington also led the GNAC in field goal percentage at 62.6 percent, field goals made with 191, total rebounds with 299 and 122 offensive rebounds. He was also second in the conference in blocks with 47.

Washington was tied for fourth in Division III with 18 double-doubles including a monster game in the GNAC semifinals against Saint Joseph's (Me.) where he scored a career-high 32 points on 15-for-22 shooting with 17 rebounds. He had 26 points and 16 rebounds in a win over Norwich on January 27 and scored 28 points with 17 rebounds (12 offensive) in a win over Lehman.

In the final regular season game against New England College, Washington scored his 1,000th career point, becoming the 20th member of the club at Albertus Magnus.

This is the seventh time in program history an Albertus Magnus men's basketball player has been named to an NABC team and the second consecutive year a Falcon earned the honor. Terry Dawkins made the second team in 2022-23.

It was another honor for Washington as he was also named to the All-GNAC First Team and the GNAC All-Tournament Team earlier this season.
