The Albertus Magnus College men's lacrosse team has been picked eighth in the 2015 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Preseason Poll as announced by the league office on Wednesday.
The Falcons, who finished the 2014 season with an overall record of 3-10 and a GNAC finish of 2-8, will look to its returners to lead the way and hold the reigns of this young program. The Falcons begin their second season in 2015.
Emmanuel College earned 78 points and seven first-place votes to be picked number one in the poll, while Lasell was picked second with 69 points and one first-place vote. Norwich rounded out the top three with 64 points and a first-place vote as well.
Mount Ida (54), Rivier (37), and Johnson & Wales (R.I.) (32) followed in line in fourth, fifth, and sixth, respectively. Anna Maria was picked ninth in the poll with 11 points as the Falcons were eighth with 26.
Albertus is scheduled to open the season on Tuesday, March 3 with a 6:00 p.m. non-league game agaisnt Emerson College. The status of that contest due to field conditions in Boston has yet to be determined.
