New Haven, CT -  On Monday afternoon, the Falcons used a first half goal off the leg of sophomore forward Alphonse Buccitti (West Haven, CT) from sophomore midfielder Steven Zapata (Hamden, CT) in the 38th minute to secure the 1-0 victory over visiting Nichols College.  The remaining 62 minutes were not easy for the Falcons as they played a man down for a total of 54 minutes the rest of the way.  Freshman goalkeeper Donato Piroscafo (Naugatuck, CT) was outstanding in goal as he made 10 saves on the afternoon.  Albertus nearly went up two goals when freshman forward Rafael Guillen (Bakersfield, CA) drilled the top of the post in the 66th minute above the goalkeeper.  The Falcons were outshot 12-6 in the second half mostly due to playing with a man down.  Albertus improves to 2-1, 0-0 GNAC on the season while Nichols falls to 0-1, 0-0 TCCC.  The Falcons travel to Boston, MA on Wednesday at 4:00 pm to take on Wheelock College.
