Howard's Two Goals Lead Falcons Over Johnson and Wales 2-0

East Providence, RI - The Albertus Magnus College Men's Soccer used two unassisted goals from junior forward Jamal Howard (West Haven, CT/West Haven) to defeat Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) opponent Johnson & Wales University 2-0 on Saturday afternoon. 

In the first half, the two teams battled to a scoreless tie despite a 9-1 shot advantage for the Falcons.

Howard put in the first goal of the game at the 71st minute to give the Falcons a 1-0 lead.  Howard put his second unassisted goal in just eight minutes later during the 79th minute with a blast from 5 yards out on the right side of the net to lead the Falcons to the 2-0 victory.  Albertus outshot Johnson & Wales 20-5 on the afternoon.

Senior Joe Ferraro (Freehold, NJ/Freehold) had seven saves in net for the Wildcats while Donato Piroscafo (Naugatuck, CT/Naugatuck) had one save for Albertus Magnus to preserve the shutout.

Albertus improves to 9-2, 3-1 GNAC while Johnson & Wales drops to 2-7-1, 1-3 GNAC.  The Falcons return to action on Wednesday afternoon when they travel to Manhattanville College for a 4:00 pm kickoff.
