New London, CT - Sophomore forward Alphonse Buccitti (West Haven, CT/Notre Dame) scored the only goal of the game in the 53rd minute leading Albertus Magnus to a 1-0 win over Coast Guard in a non-conference match.

Buccitti took a cross from junior forward Jamal Howard (West Haven, CT/West Haven) and beat Coast Guard senior goalkeeper Chris Tarbell (Haddonfield, NJ) 7:28 into the second half for the game winner.

Coast Guard had its best two chances to tie the game within a 40 second span as senior defender Frank Hackett (Marshfield, MA) drilled a shot that freshman goalkeeper Donato Piroscafo (Naugatuck, CT/Naugatuck) made a diving save on with 16:50 left in regulation and Hackett's header with 16:10 left was also saved by Piroscafo preserving the shutout victory.

Each team had 11 shots in the game. Tarbell had three saves for Coast Guard while Piroscafo made two saves to preserve the shutout.

Albertus improves to 11-4, 4-2 GNAC while Coast Guard drops to 5-6-1, 1-2-1 NEWMAC.  The Falcons travel to Boston, MA on Saturday to take on GNAC opponent Lasell College which is slated for a 2:30 pm kick-off.
