Dan Dwyer (Hamden, Conn.) and Stephen Zapata (Hamden, Conn.) each scored a pair of goals to lead the Albertus Magnus men's soccer team to a dominating 7-0 win at Anna Maria College on Wednesday night. With the win, the Falcons move to 6-1 on the year and 4-0 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play.

Albertus scored three goals in the opening eight minutes to jump out to an early lead. Senior James Lucchesi (Norwalk, Conn.) scored first for the Falcons in the fifth minute, less than a minute before Zapata drilled his third goal of the year into the back of the net.

Alex Zapata (Hamden, Conn.) tallied his fourth goal of the year in tonight's contest as he gave the Falcons' a 3-0 advantage at the 7:39 mark.

Dwyer and freshman Carson Brown (Bakersfield, Calif.) rounded out the Falcons' scoring efforts in the first half as they both tallied their first goals of the season. For Brown, his goal in the 36th minute marked the first of his career at Albertus.

Both Stephen Zapata and Dwyer netted their second goals of the contest in the second half to extend the Falcons' lead to 7-0.

Albertus outshot the AMCats 26-7 on the night, including a 15-2 advantage in the opening frame.

Donato Piroscafo (Naugatuck, Conn.) and Francois Brown (New Haven, Conn.) split time in net for the Falcons in their team's third shutout of the season.

Anna Maria's (2-3-1, 0-2-1 GNAC) Andrew Dahl recorded 11 saves in the contest, while Enco Lika registered a team-high four shots on the night.

Albertus will play Rivier on Saturday in a 3:00 p.m. contest in Nashua, N.H. before returning to New Haven on Sunday to host Farmingdale State in non-conference action. That home contest is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m.
