Falcons Battle Norwich to 0-0 Final in 2OT

The Albertus Magnus men's soccer team outshot Norwich 26-10 as both teams battled to a scoreless tie in double overtime on Saturday afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action. With the tie, the Falcons move to 8-1-2 overall on the year while remaining unbeaten in their last eight matches.

With a 5-0-1 showing in GNAC play this season, Falcon goalkeeper Donato Piroscafo (Naugatuck, Conn.) earned four saves in 110 minutes of work. Norwich's (6-3-1, 3-1-1 GNAC) Greg Payne made seven saves in net for the Cadets.

Lindsley Barrett (Shelton, Conn.) led the Falcons with seven shots on the afternoon, while Jesse Plona (Trumbull, Conn.) added six.

The Falcons outshot the Cadets 13-3 in the first half before just edging the Cadets 7-6 in the second frame.

Albertus will host Western Connecticut State University in their next match. That contest is scheduled for a 4:00 p.m. start on Wednesday, Oct. 3.
