Two first-half goals lifted the Albertus Magnus men's soccer team to a 3-1 win over Suffolk on Monday in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play. The win marks the Falcons' 11th of the season as they remain unbeaten in their last 11 contests.

Senior Stephen Zapata (Hamden, Conn.) finished the contest with two assists to improve his team-leading tally to nine on the year.

Nick Hamasian (Hamden, Conn.) scored the Falcons' first goal of the contest as he knocked in a rebound off of a free kick from Zapata in the 16th minute of play. Chris Long (West Haven, Conn.) tallied the eventual game winner in the 24th minute as he headed in a corner kick from Zapata to extend the Falcons' lead to 2-0.

Alex Zapata (Hamden, Conn.) pushed the Falcons out to a 3-0 lead in the 59th minute of play as he netted his fifth goal of the season.

Suffolk's Ben Rollins broke the scoreless streak for the Rams as he redirected a free kick into the net from Alberto Benhamu.

Donato Piroscafo (Naugatuck, Conn.) earned eight saves in 90 minutes of work, while the Rams' Nicholas Chamma tallied six saves but allowed all three goals.

The Falcons will take on Coast Guard on Wednesday, Oct. 10 in a 7:00 p.m. contest on the road. Last season, the Falcons edged the Bears 3-2 in overtime in the non-league match-up.
