Albertus Magnus men's soccer senior captain Stephen Zapata (Hamden, Conn.) has been named a 2012 New England Intercollegiate Soccer League (NEISL) All-Star and has been invited to play in the All-Star game held at Harvard University at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 25.

Zapata finished the 2012 campaign leading the Falcons with 38 points on 13 goals and 12 assists. He registered a team-high 92 shots, including 43 on goal, while he tallied six game-winning goals. He also was 4-for-4 in penalty kicks.

The Falcons won their second Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championship title on Nov. 3 with a 6-5 shootout victory over Norwich University. With the win, Albertus earned its first-ever NCAA Tournament berth in program history.

Zapata, who led the nation in assists per game in 2011, will be one of just two players from the GNAC to participate in the game. Adam Luciano from Lasell College will join Zapata on the All-Star team.
