Sophomore Alexis Garcia (West Haven, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus men's soccer team has been named to the NSCAA Division III All-New England First Team as announced Wednesday.
Garcia, who was tagged as a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Second Team member a month ago, led the Falcons with 33 points on the season thanks to a team-high 14 goals to go along with five assists. The sophomore started in all 20 games for the Falcons and scored five game-winning goals.
His honor marks the third time in the last four years that the Falcons have gotten a player on the All-New England First Team (Jamal Howard and Stephen Zapata in 2011, Stephen Zapata and Donato Piroscafo in 2012). He is also the seventh all-time Albertus Magnus men's soccer player to receive the NSCAA honors.
Garcia is one of two players from the GNAC to earn the regional honors as Norwich's Christian Albrecht was named to the Third Team.
