NEW HAVEN, Conn. - After a 2-0 week, including a win over Saint Joseph's (Me.), Kelvin Cortez (Meriden, Conn.) and David Lucero (East Haven, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus College men's soccer team were named Great Northeast Athletic Conference Player of the Week and Goalkeeper of the Week, respectively.

The Falcons didn't allow a goal last week, defeating Elms 3-0 and Saint Joseph's (Me.), 2-0 on October 16.

It's the second time this season Cortez has been honored by the GNAC. In a 3-0 win over Elms on October 11, Cortez had a goal and two assists. Just three days later in a win over one of the top teams in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC), Saint Joseph's (Me.), Cortez scored both goals. 

Cortez currently leads the GNAC in goals with ten and tied for first in points with 27.

Lucero had two clean sheets during the wins, stopping three shots against Elms and six more against Saint Joseph's (Me.) He has four shutouts on the season and is 8-2-2 in goal this season.
