Pete Zacharias (North Haven, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus men's tennis team has been named to the 2014 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) All-Conference Second Team for singles' play. The news was released by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.
Zacharias posted a 5-8 overall record as the Falcons' No. 1 singles' player as he faced every opponent's top student-athlete during league and non-league play. In No. 1 doubles, he and teammate Joe Ineson were 5-8 as well.
Mathew Mezzei (Wallingford, Conn.) earned a spot on the GNAC All-Sportsmanship team for the Falcons.
Albertus finished the 2014 season with a 6-7 overall record to match the Falcons' overall record from 2013. The six wins are the most for the program under head coach Bob Migliorini.
