Winthrop, Mass. – Senior Daniel Constantinidi (North Branford, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus College men's tennis team has been named to the 2017 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) All-Conference Second Team for singles' play as announced by the league office Wednesday afternoon.

The GNAC All-Sportsmanship Team was also announced today and freshman Daniel Pollack (Bridgeport, Conn.) represented the Falcons on the squad.

The men's tennis team also received the Institutional Sportsmanship Award, that is voted by the leagues' coaches.

Constantinidi ends his stellar playing career in New Haven by earning All-GNAC recognition for the first time. At the Albertus Magnus College Athletics Banquet last week, he was named the team's Most Valuable Player. He also received the Male Scholar Athlete of the Year award for his leadership on the tennis court and his outstanding academic performance. Over his career, he emerged as a key player in the Albertus Magnus line-up and has moved from the No. 5 singles spot to No. 2 slot starting this year. This season, he went 5-7 in singles action, highlighted by a 4-0 start to his senior year.

Pollack appeared in all 12 matches this spring for the Falcons. He earned two wins at No. 3 singles and teamed with Constantinidi and Bryan Lober for two wins at No. 2 doubles.

The Albertus Magnus College men's tennis team finished the 2017 season with an overall record of 2-10 and ended the year fourth in the GNAC with a 0-3 mark in South Division play.

Founded in 1995, the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) is an NCAA Division III association made up of 12 member institutions, 12 associate member institutions, and over 3,000 student-athletes across the New England region. Each year, the GNAC sponsors and administers 17 championships, while balancing academic integrity, athletic opportunities and community involvement.
