Levine Tabbed as GNAC Rookie of the Week

Winthrop, Mass. - Freshman Zak Levine (Hamden, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus College men's tennis team has been named this week's Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.

Levine helped lead the Falcons to a 2-1 week as the rookie went undefeated in both No. 1 singles (3-0) and No. 1 doubles (3-0) to post an overall record of 6-0. He recorded two of the Falcons' three wins in the loss to Suffolk University on Tuesday. In the 8-1 win against Webb, Levine cruised to a 10-1 win at No. 1 singles and teamed up with William Kouakou (Bridgeport, Conn.) to post an 8-6 win at No. 1 doubles. The rookie closed out the week with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep at No. 1 singles and an 8-1 win at No. 1 doubles, along with partner Alex Hale (Wolcott, Conn.), to help lead the Falcons past Lesley, 7-2.

Albertus opens up GNAC play with a road match at Rutgers-Newark on Saturday, April 6 at 1:00PM. Following the conference match against Rutgers-Newark, the Falcons will also face non-conference foe Vaughn College on Saturday at 6:00PM at the USTA National Tennis Center.
