Jocelyn Lavandier Takes Over as Assistant Volleyball Coach

Prior to the 2013-14 academic year, Jocelyn Lavandier was named the 2013 women's volleyball and 2014 men's volleyball assistant coach. Prior to taking the position of assistant coach, Lavandier served as a volunteer coach for three years with the women's volleyball team at Albertus Magnus.

Lavandier leads both teams in defensive training and passing with her expertise from playing the libero position. She also assists with front row hitting and blocking and is involved in the recruiting process for both programs as well.

Lavandier is a 2005 graduate of Wilbur Cross High School and a 2009 graduate of American International College.

As a junior middle hitter, Lavandier led Wilbur Cross to its first state tournament appearance in school history as she was named All-Southern Connecticut Oronoque Division for her efforts during her senior year campaign.

Lavandier was also the first-ever student-athlete out of the New Haven Public School System to receive an athletic scholarship for volleyball.

While at American International College, she compiled 290 digs over three seasons as AIC's Libero and defensive specialist.  She credits joining Pequenas Ligas Hispana de New Haven Volleyball program at age 14 for her improvement as a player. Lavandier is a long-time Pequenas Ligas Teacher and competitive doubles player.
