Freshman Melissa Castillo (Taftville, Conn.) has been named the ECAC Division III New England Rookie of the Week.  This honor comes after being named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week on Monday.

Castillo led the Falcons on the week with back-to-back game-winning hits, including a walk off two-run home run in extra innings as well as a walk off double to defeat Brooklyn College in a two-game series.

Castillo finished the 3-1 week for the Falcons with seven hits in 15 at-bats for a .467 batting average.  She tallied five RBI to go along with a .733 slugging percentage.

The Falcons return to action on Saturday when they host Norwich in a GNAC double header beginning at noon.
