Sophomore Megan Ferraro Tabbed as GNAC Softball Pitcher of the Week

Winthrop, Mass. – Albertus Magnus College softball player Megan Ferraro (Branford, Conn.) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Pitcher of the Week on Monday afternoon as announced by the league office.

Ferraro becomes the first Falcon to earn weekly recognition from the conference this spring and she garnered league-wide distinction for the first time in her career after leading the squad to a 3-1 mark last week.

In the circle, Ferraro went 2-0 with a save and an impressive 0.47 earned run average. On the week, she allowed just one earned run in 15 innings and is currently in the midst of an 11-inning scoreless streak. Ferraro tossed a pair of complete games, highlighted by tossing a five-hit shutout against Saint Joseph's (Maine) in conference play. She also worked a perfected seventh inning versus the Monks in the conference opener to earn her first save of the season.

This spring, Ferraro is 6-1 with one save. She also has amassed a 1-56 ERA in 45 innings of work.

Albertus Magnus returns to action on Saturday, April 9, with a home conference doubleheader against Lasell that gets underway at noon. Last spring, the Falcons swept the Lasers in Boston.
