Winthrop, Mass. - Junior Gillian Fortier (Naugatuck, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus College softball team was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Athlete of the Week after leading the Falcons to a 6-0 week.

Fortier hit .550 (11-20) with four homers, two doubles, 14 RBI and 12 runs scored as the Falcons went 6-0 last week, including a sweep of USJ. She slugged 1.250 and posted a .625 OBP for an impressive 1.875 OPS. She had a homer in each game in doubleheaders versus Dean and Mount Ida and hit safely in all six contests.

The Falcons are back in action this week against Johnson & Wales, Simmons, Rivier.
