HOW IT HAPPENED - G1
Albertus came out swinging in the top of the first as the Falcons scored five runs on six hits to take the early lead over the Lasers. Despite a lead-off groundout from Ivy Geloso (Beacon Falls, Conn.), Peyton Davis (North Haven, Conn.) got things started for the Falcons with a double to center field, before she advanced to third behind a stolen base. An infield pop held Davis at third, before an RBI double from Laura Anderson (East Haven, Conn.) allowed her to score. Bernadette Kingsbury (Trumbull, Conn.) kept things going, recording her third double of the season and moving Anderson from second to home, putting the Falcons up 2-0. Kayla Resto (Shelton, Conn.) followed with a hard single to left field to score Kingsbury for the visitors. With two outs and runners on first and second, a two-RBI triple to right-center from Madison LaBossiere (Griswold, Conn.) cleared the bags and gave the Falcons the 5-0 lead, before a fly out to center field from Janelle Franklin (Middletown, Conn.) ended the inning.

Kingsbury dominated in the circle for the Falcons, as the sophomore hurler shut down the Lasers offense, holding the hosts to four hits and striking out five over six innings, en route to her first career shutout.

After the hit parade in the first inning, the Falcon bats were held in check by Lasell pitcher Nicolette Genkos until the top of the fifth, when Fatima Rosales (East Elmhurst, N.Y.) ripped an RBI single to centerfield that scored Anderson from second with two outs on the board.

The visitors added a pair of insurance runs in the top of the sixth. Back-to-back hits from Franklin and Geloso put two on with no outs for Davis, who promptly dropped a perfect bunt down to advance the runners to second and third. The move was successful, as Anderson followed with a hard single to send both baserunners to the plate for the score.

The Lasers were unable to respond in their final at-bats, as Kingsbury slammed the door with a three-up, three-down inning to preserve the 8-0 Falcon victory and record her first career shutout in the circle.

HOW IT HAPPENED - G2
Albertus was unable to get the offense in motion to start two against Laser pitcher Eryn Sheeley, going three-up, three-down in the first, despite the walk to Ava Gladwin (Guilford, Conn.). Anderson started in the circle for the Falcons in the nightcap and set the Lasers down perfectly in the bottom half of the frame.

A dropped third strike to start the second inning put Anderson on the bags for the Falcons, but they were unable to take advantage, going down in order from there. The Lasers smacked their first hit of the game against Anderson in the second with two outs but were unable to capitalize on the opportunity, and the teams transitioned to the third inning, with both pitchers locked in and hanging zeros on the scoreboard.

The Falcons' offense finally got rolling in the third inning. With one out, Janelle Franklin (Middletown, Conn.) reached first on a fielding error by the shortstop. A Geloso single to left field and a walk from Gladwin loaded the bases for the Falcons, with Stettinger coming to the plate. Despite the strikeout of Stettinger, the Falcons were still able to score, as a dropped third strike scored Franklin from third and moved everybody up on the bases. With two on and two out, Sheeley induced a come-backer from Anderson to end the inning, with Albertus on top 1-0.

Anderson stymied the Lasers in the bottom of the third, throwing a scoreless three-up, three-down inning, with a pair of punchouts.

The pitchers dominated the fourth inning, as neither team was able to get the momentum going. Sheeley gave up the error, before retiring three straight on a pair of groundouts and a strikeout. Anderson matched her efforts with a pair of ground ball outs and a strikeout of her own to end the fourth, with the Falcons still hanging onto their 1-0 lead.

Albertus broke through in the fifth, taking advantage of a pair of Laser errors to score two runs and head into the bottom of the fifth with a 3-0 lead. The Lasers finally got to Anderson in the fifth, as the hosts scored their first run behind three hits. Anderson was able to limit the damage, however, getting the final two outs with the bases loaded to end the threat.

The Falcons added an insurance run in the top of the sixth inning. Angelina Ramada (North Branford, Conn.) singled up the middle with one out before Resto doubled down the left-field line to put runners on second and third. Geloso followed with an RBI-double before a strikeout ended the inning. The Falcons added an insurance run in the seventh on a pair of hits and an error to take the 5-1 lead heading into the bottom of the last frame.

Anderson continued to dominate the Lasers, retiring the final six hitters to preserve the 5-1 victory.
