  • The Falcon's responded quickly, loading the bases in the bottom of the sixth. A sacrifice fly by Gladwin allowed Anna Leone (Shelton, Conn.) to score from third base to slice the Colonels lead in half, 2-1.
  • Curry's lead grew by one in the top of the seventh when Bussiere singled and advanced to second on a throwing error, driving in Emma Burke from second base.
  • The Falcons rose into action to tie the game in the bottom of the seventh, 3-3. Back-to-back singles from Franklin and Angelina Ramada (North Branford, Conn.) put two on with none out for Leone. Leone didn't disappoint, launching a game-tying triple into right field for two RBIs.
  • With the international tiebreaker rule in-effect at the start of extra innings, the Colonels capitalized on this rule when O'Kleasky singled, sending Ferullo from second to third base. Jillian Rogers then whacked a two-RBI double. Curry continued to hit and drove in two additional runs during the inning to give the Colonels a four-run advantage over the Falcons, 7-3.
  • Albertus did not go down quietly, as Kerrs led off the inning with the RBI-triple, scoring the ghost runner from second base. Geloso followed up with an RBI single to trim Curry's deficit to 7-5, but the Colonels slammed the door on the Falcon's rally from there, inducing three straight outs to end game one by a final score of 7-5.
