NEWTON, Mass. - The Albertus Magnus College softball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader to Lasell, 5-1 and 4-3 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action.
In game one, the Falcons had just one hit, courtesy of Hailey Laforte (Branford, Conn.) who also had an RBI.
Lasell rallied from a three-run deficit in game two and had a walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh to earn the win. Paige Scheid (Cedar Grove, N.J.) was 3-for-3 with an RBI and a run in the second game.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Albertus took an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first as Scheid led off the game with a walk and advanced to third on a passed ball and wild pitch. Laforte drove her in with a sacrifice fly.
- From there, the Falcons wouldn't get a hit until a single from Laforte in the top of the sixth inning. Meanwhile, the Lasell offense scored three runs in the bottom of the third to take the lead, including a two-run double from Shyanne Raccio with the bases loaded.
- Lasell added one more run on an error in the fourth and another insurance run in the sixth on an RBI single from Brianna Gendreau.
- Starting pitcher Annabelle Jabs (East Hartland, Conn.) struck out four batters in 5.1 innings.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Once again, Albertus got on the board in the first inning as Scheid walked once again to lead off the game, eventually advancing to third after a stolen base and a ground out. She scored the first run for the Falcons on an RBI groundout from Laforte.
- The Falcons took a 3-0 lead in the top of the second on an RBI single that scored Julianna Petruzziello (West Haven, Conn.) who singled earlier in the inning. On the throw back into the infield, Gianna Carrano (West Haven, Conn.) would score, giving Albertus the three-run lead.
- Signore got the start for the Falcons on the mound and retired the first ten batters of the game before allowing a single to Emily Mestas.
- Lasell tied the game in the bottom of the fifth as Gendreau - with the bases loaded - hit a two-out bases-clearing double.
- The Lasers had a chance to take the lead in the bottom of the sixth after loading the bases with two outs, but Skylar Arent (Ridgefield, Conn.) who came in relief for Signore in the fifth inning, struck out the final two batters to preserve the tie.
- In the top of the seventh Scheid hit a one out single, but was stranded on second. In the bottom of the seventh, the Lasers loaded the bases without the ball leaving the infield as Alyssa Bland walked and Gendreay and Mestas hit infield singles that brought Mackenzie Still to the plate. Still would then hit a single to right field to score Kirck, giving the Lasers the win.

NOTEWORTHY
- Scheid now has four games with three or more hits in a game this season. She has 50 hits on the season, tying her for second in the GNAC. She is also eighth in batting average at .410.
- The Falcons drew six walks over the course of the doubleheader. They lead the GNAC with 116 on the season.
