Falcons Win Third Straight, Defeat Lesley 64-26

Bianca Brown (West Haven, Conn.) recorded 21 points and nine rebounds as she led the Albertus Magnus women's basketball team to a 64-26 win over Lesley on Saturday afternoon in the Pine Manor Boston Invitational.

Brown scored 16 of her 21 points in the first half to lead the Falcons to a 37-14 advantage before intermission. The senior shot 8-of-13 from the floor in the contest as she played 24 minutes.

With the win, Albertus improves to 3-0 on the year, as they defeated the NECC opponent.

The Falcons used a 13-0 run midway through the first half to take a 23-9 lead with 6:47 left before the halftime break. Albertus held Lesley to a 6-of-27 showing from the floor in the first half as they dominated play throughout.

In the second half, Albertus held Lesley to just 12 points, holding their opponent to just five field goals.

On the afternoon, Albertus shot 22-of-60 from the field as the Falcons extended their lead to as much as 38 points in the second frame with 1:57 left in the contest.

The Falcons also scored 22 points off 25 Lesley turnovers. Lesley's Emily Fleming led her team with 12 points and 12 rebounds on the afternoon as well.

Lindsay Karle (Wallingford, Conn.) shot 5-of-8 from the floor for the Falcons, including a 4-of-5 clip from behind the arc, as she finished the game with 14 points. Shannon Brackeen (New Haven, Conn.) added seven points and six rebounds.

The Falcons will return to action on Sunday, Nov. 20 as they will face Pine Manor in their second game of the weekend tournament.
