Lianna Carrero (Hamden, Conn.) scored 18 points to lead the Albertus Magnus women's basketball team over the College of New Rochelle by a score of 56-38 in non-conference action on Tuesday night.

Lindsay Karle (Wallingford, Conn.) scored 17 points for the Falcons as she shot 4-of-8 from behind the arc. For Karle, it was her seventh-straight game with 15 or more points. Carrero added five steals and six rebounds for the Falcons as well.

With back-to-back wins, the Falcons improve to 14-10 on the year with one regular-season game left on the schedule. In just his first year as head coach, Steve Schuler has brought the program back to its winning ways as it is the program's first winning regular season in the last eight years, since finishing the 2003-04 season 16-11.

The Falcons are now 2-0 all-time against the CNR as their last meeting came in the 1990-91 season.

Both teams struggled in the opening half as the Falcons hit just six of their first 34 shot attempts from the field. Albertus held a 24-19 advantage at the break led by seven first-half points from Bianca Brown (West Haven, Conn.). The Falcons finished the night shooting 24.2-percent, including a 4-of-15 clip from behind the arc. The Falcons helped themselves from the charity stripe as they hit 20-of-29 during the contest to clinch the non-league victory.

The Falcons' largest lead of night came at the 7:24 mark of the second half as they extended their lead to 20 points. On the night, Albertus scored 23 points off 38 CNR turnovers. For Albertus, Brown also tallied eight rebounds in 27 minutes of work.

CNR's Tra'Leassa King led the Blue Angels with a double-double as she tallied 14 points and 14 rebounds.

The Falcons last regular-season game will take place on Saturday, Feb. 18 as Albertus will play host to Saint Joseph's College of Maine.  That contest will serve as the Falcons' Play 4Kay game as Albertus encourages its fans to wear pink to promote breast cancer awareness. The GNAC match-up begins at 1:00 p.m.
