The Albertus Magnus women's basketball team picked up its fifth-straight victory with a 72-41 win over the College of New Rochelle on Thursday night in a non-conference match-up in New Rochelle, N.Y.

Led by freshman Olivia Bolden (South Windsor, Conn.) with 19 points, the Falcons improved to 10-9 on the year to mark the third time in the last four seasons that the Falcons have registered 10 or more wins in a single season.

Bolden shot 8-of-13 from the floor to lead Albertus.  Kelsey Pendagast (Shelton, Conn.) added 10 points and 14 rebounds for her ninth double-double of the season, while Chelsea Sherrod (Bridgeport, Conn.) registered 13 rebounds and eight points. Kiarra Epps (Norwalk, Conn.) added 15 points on 7-of-11 shooting.

Albertus opened the contest with a 4-0 run before New Rochelle took over the lead and led by five midway through the first half. Albertus answered and tied the contest at 19 before finishing out the final 8:30 of the half on a 14-3 run.

At the halftime break, the Falcons led by 11 at 33-22.

Every Falcon scored in tonight's contest as Elli Sola (New Britain, Conn.) contributed with five points on 2-of-3 shooting, while Alexa Riley (Cromwell, Conn.) added six points and four rebounds off the bench for Albertus.

The Falcons finished the night shooting 46.3% from the field. CNR tallied 15 made-field goals as 10 of those were from behind the arc. The Blue Angels were 10-of-30 from three-point land as CNR shot 28.3% from the floor throughout the entire game.

Albertus also finished the night out-rebounding the Blue Angels 52-26.  CNR only went to the free-throw line four times and finished 1-of-4 from the charity stripe. The Blue Angels were led by Hannah Cambel with 11 points, while Alyssa Pechin had 10.

The Falcons are now 4-1 all-time against CNR after a loss in the teams' last meeting last season.

Albertus takes its five-game win streak into a league match-up on Saturday when the Falcons face the Norwich Cadets in GNAC action.  Tip is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.  Norwich is 14-4 on the year, as of Thursday evening, and is led by the GNAC's points per game leader in senior Aliah Curry.
