Despite 12 points and 10 rebounds from Kelsey Pendagast (Shelton, Conn.), the Albertus Magnus women's basketball team dropped a 75-65 decision to Norwich University in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC), snapping the Falcons' five-game win streak.

Norwich improves to 15-4 on the year with today's victory, while Albertus falls to 10-10.  Norwich is now 4-3 in league play, while Albertus is 3-4.

Aliah Curry, who leads the GNAC in points per game, showed why she holds that title as she connected for 30 points on 8-of-18 shooting. She was also 13-of-15 from the free-throw line.

Albertus shot 35.4% from the floor, while Norwich shot 37.5%. The Cadets also out-rebounded the Falcons 49-41 on the afternoon.

Early in the first half, the Falcons were held without a basket for 4:46 as Norwich pushed out to a 19-8 lead with help from a 10-0 run. Albertus battled back to cut the Norwich lead to five at 29-24.

At the half, Norwich led by seven at 31-24 as Curry led all scorers with 10 points.

Norwich shot 46.2% from the field in the second half as they out-scored the Falcons 44-41 in the frame. In the second half, the Cadets were 18-of-21 from the free-throw line as well.

Norwich pushed out to its biggest lead with 15:45 left on the clock when the Cadets went up by 18 points. Albertus was able to get to within eight at 67-59 but Norwich was able to secure the 10-point victory.

Heather LeBlanc finished the contest with 13 points and 11 rebounds for the Cadets, while Shyann Josler added 11 points off the bench.

Olivia Bolden (South Windsor, Conn.) led the Falcons with 17 points and seven rebounds, while Pendagast added her 10th double-double of the season. Kiarra Epps (Norwalk, Conn.) chipped in with 16 points on 5-of-14 shooting from the floor.

Chelsea Sherrod (Bridgeport, Conn.) added nine rebounds, six points and two blocks.

Albertus is scheduled to take on Coast Guard on Monday night in a 7:00 p.m. contest in New London. This is a make-up game from last Monday's snow storm cancellation.
