Winthrop, Mass. - Junior Shyla Osmond (New Haven, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus College women's basketball team earned weekly honors as the shooting guard was named this week's Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week after her performance in a 2-0 week.

Osmond averaged 34.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 4.5 steals, while shooting 52 percent from the field. She recorded her fourth double-double in an 83-57 win at Simmons, registering 27 points (10-20 FG, 6-9 FT), 13 rebounds, five assists and four steals. She followed up with a a career-high 41 points (15-28 FG, 4-9 3PT, 7-7 FT), seven rebounds, seven assists and five steals in a 78-75 win against Colby Sawyer. 

The women's basketball team returns to action on Thursday, January 24 with a home contest against Lasell College. Tip-off is set for 7 pm in New Haven, Conn.
