HOW IT HAPPENED

In the first period, Salve Regina peppered Johnson with shots but she was up to the task, stopping the first nine shots of the game until Salve Regina's Emily Wroblewski scored at the 16:27 mark to make it a 1-0 game. With just over a minute remaining Jennifer Rickard scored after she rebounded her own shot to stuff the puck in the net to make it a 2-0 game into the first intermission.

Both goaltenders shut the door in the second period in net as Johnson stopped all five shots she faced. Salve's Livia Krzywulak stopped all six she faced in the period. The Falcons had three power-play opportunities in the period but were unable to convert. The Falcons almost got on the board in the period with under a minute remaining but a shot from Isabella Contreras (Surprise, AZ) hit the pipe.

In the third, the Seahawks converted a power-play goal with seven seconds left on the man advantage at the 7:59 mark to go up 3-0 on a goal from Samantha McKenzie. The Falcons' best opportunity of the period to score in the third was on a point-blank shot from Kayla Clark (Avon, Conn.), but Krzywulak was able to make the stop. Salve added one more goal with under a minute left.
