Women's Lacrosse Drops Road Tilt Against AMCATS

PAXTON, Mass. - Alexandra Barrett (Northford, Conn.) netted two goals, and Mariah Mandulak (Shelton, Conn.) recorded one goal and one assist to lead the Albertus Magnus College women's lacrosse team in its 11-5 road setback to Anna Maria College on Tuesday afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Falcons burst out of the gates in the first quarter, netting the game's opening three goals to take a 3-0 lead by the 5:17 mark. Keegan Riccio (West Haven, Conn.) kicked off the contest with an unassisted tally in the first 4:01 before Barrett scored AMC's next two goals. Mandulak assisted Barrett's second tally, while the first came on a free-position attempt.

Anna Maria answered with the game's following four goals to take a 4-3 advantage with 3:16 left in the second quarter.

Albertus was not deterred by the AMCATS' run, tying the game before halftime with a thrilling last-second goal. Amanda McGeehan (Milford, Conn.) drove to the crease after curling from behind the cage, firing a rocket over the keeper's left shoulder to knot the game at 1-1 through 30 minutes.

Unfortunately for the Falcons, Anna Maria scored all six goals in the third quarter to build a commanding 10-4 lead.

The Falcons opened the fourth with a goal before the AMCATS put the finishing touches on their 11-5 win with a goal at the 1:14 mark. Mandulak netted the tally for AMC, scoring an unassisted strike just 43 seconds into the frame.

Chloe Oliver (Milford, Conn.) continued to give opposing offenses fits, stopping 19 AMCAT shots today on her way to another stellar performance.
