BOX SCORE

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Bard kicked off the opening stanza with the early two-goal lead over the Falcons until back-to-back goals from Barrett at the 10:08 and 5:51 mark evened the contest at 2-2.
  • Barrett's second tally of the game was responsible by Amanda McGeehan (Milford, Conn.), who scooped up the ground ball following a save attempt from Bard's Lexie Blackburn and found an open Barrett cutting through the defense.
  • The Raptors, however, closed out the first period with two unanswered goals, doubling their lead heading into the second, 4-2.
  • Bard controlled the following 15 minutes of play as the hosts outscored the Falcons, 5-1, to take a 9-3 lead at the half.
  • The Falcons' lone goal of the second period came on a free position shot from Riccio at the 5:53 mark.
  • Albertus saw its deficit grow to eight, 11-3, with 7:44 left in the third period, but thanks to back-to-back goals from Kaitlin D'Agostino (Hamden, Conn.) and a man-up goal from Laila Webb (Montclair, N.J.) the Falcons trimmed the deficit to five, 11-6.
  • From there, the Raptors put the game out of reach and held the Falcons scoreless for the remainder of the game to secure the non-conference 19-6 victory.
  • Falcon keeper Kelly Musante (Wallingford, Conn.) recorded a nine-save performance over 60 minutes of play.
