Women's Lacrosse Drops Decision to Manhattanville, 20-3

PURCHASE, N.Y. -  The Albertus Magnus College women's lacrosse team suffered a 20-3 road setback to the Valiants of Manhattanville College in non-conference action Tuesday evening at GoValiants.com Field.

KEY HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Valiants controlled the first quarter of play as the hosts held a five-goal advantage heading into the second.
  • Manhattanville kicked off the second quarter with a goal from Kerry Carr, extending the hosts' lead to six, 6-0.
  • Shortly after, the Falcons put a goal up on the scoreboard as Keegan Riccio (West Haven, Conn.) tallied her 16th goal of the season on a free position shot at 13:37.
  • The Valiants commanded the remaining minutes of the half by pushing seven goals past Falcons' keeper Kelly Musante (Wallingford, Conn.).
  • Valiants' Maura Kelly started the third quarter scoring her fourth goal of the game before back-to-back goals from Riccio and Amanda McGeehan (Milford, Conn.) brought the deficit to 11, 14-3.
  • Junior Alexandra Barrett (Northford, Conn.) assisted both Riccio and McGeehan's goals at 4:44 and 2:15.
  • The Valiants tallied one more goal to close the third quarter, 15-3.
  • Manhattanville dominated the fourth quarter outscoring the Falcons 5-0 to make the final score 20-3.

  • Kaitlin D'Agostino (Hamden, Conn.) finished with a team-high six draw controls, while Riccio collected two.
  • Seven different Falcons caused a Valiant turnover.
  • Riccio extends her season goal total to 17 following her two-goal performance this evening.
  • Barrett tied her season-high in assists with two. 
  • McGeehan now has scored 11 goals this spring for the Falcons.
