NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Albertus Magnus College women's lacrosse team was picked to finish seventh in the south division as the 2024 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) preseason poll was released.

In the south division, Johnson and Wales was picked first with 128 voting points, including 16 first-place votes. University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) was picked second with 100 voting points and Dean was picked third with 86 voting points to round out the top three.

In the north division, Saint Joseph's (Maine) was picked first with 120 voting points, including 11 first-place votes. Simmons was picked second with 108 voting points and two first-place votes. Close behind, Emmanuel was picked third with 104 voting points and the final three first-place votes.

Albertus earned 36 voting points.

The Falcons will be led by first-year head coach Kaitlin D'Agostino.

Albertus opens up its season at home against Wells on Sunday, February 25 at 12:00 p.m.

The top five teams in each division at the end of the regular season will qualify for the 2024 iteration of the GNAC Women's Lacrosse Championship Tournament, which will begin with a Play-In round featuring the No. 4 and No. 5 seeds in each division. The winners of those games will advance to the GNAC Quarterfinals on Saturday, April 27. The advancing teams will compete in the GNAC Semifinals on Tuesday, April 30 for the right to compete for the GNAC Championship on Saturday, May 4. The winner of the GNAC Championship game will be named the conference champion and earn the league's automatic qualifier into the 2024 NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Championship.
