HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Helwig got the scoring going for the Falcons with two free position goals, the second with a man-up at the 5:42 mark to put Albertus up, 2-1.
  • Just 1:33 later, Antonucci scored her first goal of the season, receiving a wide open pass from Helwig, turning around and firing a shot over the left shoulder of RIC goalkeeper, Fiona Baxter to put Albertus up, 3-1.
  • Albertus led 3-2 heading into the second period, but Helwig gave the Falcons another two-goal lead in another man-up situation when she split four defenders and took a shot past Baxter to make it a 4-2 game.
  • The Anchormen would tie the game heading into halftime as Livia Sweeney and Emily Marino scored.
  • After RIC scored the first two goals of the second half to take a 6-4 lead - including a second goal from Sweeney - O'Brien trimmed the Albertus deficit back to one as she ran around two defenders and took a shot past Baxter before the defensive help came.
  • Just 14 seconds into the fourth, Rivera scored her second goal of the season to tie the game off a pass from Antonucci off a free position attempt, making a 6-6 game.
  • The Anchormen and Falcons would score just 50 seconds apart as Emily Marino scored her third from the game, followed by the fourth from Helwig at the 10:52 mark, spinning off a defender and putting a shot into the net, making it a 7-7 game.
  • RIC would score again to take a one-goal lead after Sophie DeFlitch scored her second of the game with 7:28 left. O'Brien then scored her second of the game over two minutes later, picking up a loose ball and tossing it in the net, making it an 8-8 game with 5:06 left.
  • It would be the last time the game would be tied as RIC scored twice in the final 2:40 on goals from Hannah Marley and a third from DeLitch to make it a 10-8 game.
