Falcons Drop 2-0 Decision to Trinity College

New Haven, CT - The Albertus Magnus College Women's Soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to visiting Trinity College on Thursday afternoon.  The Falcons played Trinity virtually even in the first half with the score 0-0 at halftime.

Albertus and Trinity played a virtually even game in the first half with shots (3), corner kicks (2), and even fouls (2) tied at the break.

The Falcons best scoring chance came in the 18th minute when sophomore forward Danielle Figueroa (Bridgeport, CT/Notre Dame Fairfield) had a point blank shot saved by junior goalkeeper Lilly Pepper (Princeton, NJ/West Windsor-Plainsboro) and kept the game scoreless entering the second half.

Trinity would find the back of the net in the 74th minute off the leg of junior forward Jenny Ley (Warwick, RI/LaSalle Academy) to make the score 1-0. 

Freshman forward Shea Kusiak (Longmeadow, MA/Longmeadow) finished off the scoring when she finished a through ball from junior forward Leigh Howard (Bethany, CT/Amity) in the 82nd minute for the final score of 2-0.

Albertus drops to 9-6, 6-3 GNAC while Trinity improves to 5-1-3, 3-1-2 NESCAC.  The Falcons travel to Boston, MA to take on Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) opponent Lasell College at 12:00 pm on Saturday afternoon.
