Emmanuel College used a goal by Lindsey Garvey in the 62nd minute to take 1-0 victory over the Albertus Magnus women's soccer team on Saturday afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play. The contest marked the Falcons' final GNAC regular-season match of 2012, while they finish with a 7-3-2 record in league play.

After a scoreless first-half, the Saints (12-5-1, 8-3-1 GNAC) came out of the second half and outshot the Falcons 8-3 to finish the game with a 12-11 advantage in total shots.

Less than 17 minutes into the second half, Garvey scored in a scramble in front of the net to give her team a 1-0 lead.

Albertus falls to 11-4-2 on the year with the loss.

Christina Dineson (Milford, Conn.) recorded seven saves in the contest, including five in the second half of play, while Jessica D'Ottavio made five stops for the Saints in 90 minutes of work.

The Falcons controlled the tempo of the game in the opening 45 minutes as they fired off three-straight shots in the first three minutes of the contest. Shelley Mirmina (Milford, Conn.) drilled a shot at net at the 1:03 mark but was unfortunate as the shot hit the crossbar.

D'Ottavio then made back-to-back diving saves to keep the score knotted at zero. All five of Mirmina's shots came in the first half, while three were on net and stopped by D'Ottavio.

Prior to today's contest, the Falcons honored their four seniors; Sarah DiCenzo (Wallingford, Conn.), Samantha Farley (Shelton, Conn.), Danielle Figueroa (Bridgeport, Conn.) and Kelly Marchitto (West Haven, Conn.).

Albertus returns to action on Thursday afternoon in a 3:30 p.m. contest against Trinity College (Conn.). That match at Celentano Field will mark the final regular-season game for the Falcons.
