Falcons Fall to Saints 2-1

Darcey Sullivan scored in the 83rd minute to lead the Emmanuel College Saints to a 2-1 win over the Albertus Magnus women's soccer team on Saturday afternoon in GNAC action. 

After the Saints took a 1-0 lead in the first half on Sullivan's first goal of the afternoon, Albertus' Amanda Roke (Cheshire, Conn.) scored the Falcons' lone goal as she tied up the game in the 66th minute with her 10th goal of the season.

For Roke, the goal is the 28th of her career, while she also has 71 career points.

The loss for the Falcons is just the fourth all season and their first in their last nine contests.

Sophomore Maria Case (West Haven, Conn.) made eight saves in net for the Falcons, while Emmanuel's Brenna Smith tallied two saves in 90 minutes.

Emmanuel also outshot the Falcons 14-9 on the afternoon, while the Falcons held an 8-1 advantage in corner kicks.

The Falcons fall to 12-4-2 on the year and 9-2 in GNAC action.

The Falcons will be the No. 2 seed in the upcoming GNAC Tournament and will play at home on Saturday, Nov. 2.
