Junior Angelina Piccirillo Earns NSCAA All-New England Honors

New Haven, Conn. – Albertus Magnus College junior women's soccer player Angelina Piccirillo (Naugatuck, Conn.) earned a spot on the 2016 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-New England Team as announced on Tuesday afternoon. Piccirillo landed on the third team alongside four other midfielders.

She becomes the fifth player in program history to earn NSCAA All-New England distinction and the first since teammate Danielle Polvan (East Haven, Conn.) picked up third-team honors in 2014. Piccirillo was one of five Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) players to earn regional recognition this autumn.

Following a breakout campaign, Piccirillo earned All-GNAC accolades for the first time in her career thanks to recording 13 points in 11 conference games this fall. She was the lone Falcon to land on the first team. Piccirillo also registered an assist in the conference championship to close out the year with six goals and two assists to total 14 points. In each GNAC game she scored in, the Falcons won and Piccirillo delivered the game-winning strike. She ended the regular season with back-to-back multi-goal games against league opponents. In conference play, she ranked 10th in goals and was tied for 11th in points, while tying for the league-lead with four game-winning goals. Angelina is the daughter of Mark and Mary Piccirillo and is majoring in Criminal Justice.

Albertus Magnus saw its season to come to an end with a 2-1 setback against top-seeded Lasell in the GNAC Championship in early November. It was an historic season for the Falcons as the team earned a conference championship berth for the first time.
