Women's Soccer Blanked by Emmanuel (Mass.)

BOSTON, Mass. - The Albertus Magnus College women's soccer team recorded its fourth loss of the season as the Falcons fell on the road to the Saint of Emmanuel (Mass.) College by a final score of 3-0 in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) clash at Clemente Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Saints took an early 1-0 lead three minutes into the first half on a goal by Sarah Dullaghan.
  • Emmanuel continued to press its advantage, firing off a barrage of shots over the next thirty minutes before Maya Daryanani doubled the hosts' lead with a goal on an assist from Liz McCormick.
  • Haley Andrews (Prospect, Conn.) took the lone shot for the Falcons in the first half but was denied by Saints keeper Patricia Kirejczyk. 
  • The Falcons' offense finally started to come to life in the second half, as the visitors ripped off eight shots with six shots on goal in the second stanza but were continuously denied by Kirejczyk. 
  • Dullaghan scored a second goal for the Saints in the 80th minute to give the hosts a 3-0 advantage. 
  • The Falcons could not mount the comeback and fell to the Saints by a final score of 3-0 in conference play.
