HOW IT HAPPENED
The Falcons had their best chance in the first half to get on the board. In the ninth minute, Sophia Vescera (Prospect, Conn.) had one defender on her, but her shot from five yards out was stopped by a diving Kortney Clark in the net for the AMCATS.
The second half looked to be going the same way until Erina Ismaili (Middlebury, Conn.) found open space and took a low line drive from 40 yards out past Clark to make it a 1-0 lead in the 68th minute. It was her team-leading sixth goal of the season
Just five minutes later, Victoria Jainchill (Simsbury, Conn.) kept her scoring ways going, getting to a loose ball between three defenders, turning the corner at the top of the box, and scoring her fourth goal of the season on a low shot to the far post.
