Swimming and Diving Competes in Second Home Event

RESULTS

New Haven, C.T. - The Albertus Magnus College women's swimming and diving team hosted its second home swim meet of the 2019-20 season on Friday evening against Elms College and the University of Saint Joseph (CT) at the Cosgrove Marcus Messer Athletic Center. 

During the meet, the Lady Falcons congratulated sophomore Megan Anderson (Levittown, N.Y.) as she made her NEISDA cut in the 50 yard breaststroke swim, which qualifies her for the Division III regionals. 

EVENT RESULTS

1000 Yard Freestyle

  • Crisbeth Castañeda (Guatemala City, Guatemala) placed third in this event with a time of 17:35.39

200 Yard Freestyle

  • Ellyn Diverniero (East Haven, Conn.) led the way for the Falcons, placing fifth overall with a time of 2:40.48
  • Arle Cruceta (Salcedo, Dominican Republic) finished with a time of 4:41.76 

50 Yard Freestyle

  • Kiara Pabon (Hamden, Conn.) took home seventh place in the event with a time of 41.09 seconds.

50 Yard Breaststroke  

  • Megan Anderson (Levittown, N.Y.) grabbed second place finishing with a strong time of 37.92 seconds.

200 Yard Breaststroke 

  • Anderson finished in third place with a time of 3:05.19
  • Diverniero finished in sixth place with a time of 3:23.01

200 Yard IM

  • Anderson placed fifth overall with a time of 2:57.03
  • Castañeda placed seventh with a final time of 3:16.72

100 Yard Freestyle

  • Carolyn Corey (Waterbury, Conn.) grabbed a seventh place finish in this event with a time of 1:47.25
  • Cruceta followed with eighth place points with a time of 2:09.06

50 Yard Backstroke

  • Pabon scored eighth place points finishing with a time of 53.85
  • Abigail Amankwatia (Bronx N.Y. ) finished shortly after Pabon in ninth with a time of 1:07.32

50 Yard Butterfly 

  • Diverniero finished in sixth place with a final time of 38:60

500 Yard Freestyle 

  • Cruceta took home a fifth place finish with a time of 8:00.09
  • Corey followed shortly behind for a fifth place finish and a time of 10:26.56

200 Yard Freestyle Relay

  • The relay of Amankwatia, Corey, Cruceta, and Pabon finished the day off with fourth place points with a time of 3:07.60

UP NEXT 

The women's swimming and diving team returns to action against Plymouth State University on Saturday, Nov. 22. The meet is set for 5PM at the PSU Natatorium pool in Plymouth, N.H.
