The Albertus Magnus women's tennis team fell to Emmanuel 9-0 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play on Saturday afternoon.
Emmanuel won all but three sets from the Falcons as Malika Grant (Brooklyn, N.Y.) fell in a 6-0, 6-3 No. 6 singles' match.
No. one through five singles were decided by 6-0, 6-0 scores, while all three doubles' matches were won by Emmanuel with 8-0 scores.
Albertus Magnus' Na'Tasha Mesidor (Bridgeport, Conn.) and Sandybell Anorga (Stamford, Conn.) fell in No. 1 doubles to Victoria Trull and Lauren Lesko as the Saints' duo remain unbeaten on the year.
In singles play, Emmanuel's Amanda Woznicki, a Connecticut native, defeated Anorga in straight sets in the No. 1 position.
Emmanuel freshman Alex Jennings, a Granby, Conn. native, won her first collegiate match at fourth singles, defeating Rebecca Weinberger (New Haven, Conn.) in straight sets.
Erin Thornton, who defeated Grant in No. 6 singles, is currently into her third season of being undefeated in singles' action.
The Saints improve to 4-0 on the season and 2-0 in GNAC play with the win.
The Falcons return to action on Tuesday, Sept 27 as they travel to Mitchell College for a 4:00 p.m. match.
