The Albertus Magnus College women's tennis team (1-2) traveled to Longmeadow, Massachusetts on Sunday, September 17 to take on Bay Path College (5-1).  The Falcons lost 9-0 despite strong efforts from the doubles team of Meteka Joseph (Mt. Vernon, N.Y.) and Renita Moore (Manhattan, N.Y.), who got edged out 8-6 in a hard fought match.

Despite the Falcon's best efforts, the powerful Bay Path College team proved to be too much.  Bay Path was led by Symone Watson and Stephanie Morin who each won a singles match then proceeded to defeat the Falcons' strong duo of Sandybell Anorga (Stamford, Conn) and Na'Tasha Mesidor (Bridgeport, Conn) 8-0 in a doubles' match.  The doubles team of Gina D'Agostino (Hamden, Conn) and Malika Grant (Brooklyn, N.Y.) also lost an 8-0 match to the tough Bay Path pair of Brittany Walsh and Teanna Montoya.

Chantal Simmons (East Harlem, N.Y.) and Sogona Sacko (New York, N.Y.) were also in action for the Falcons in singles' play.

With the loss, the Falcons' move to 1-2 on the year.  They will take on the AMCats of Anna Maria College (0-3) in their next match on Wednesday, September 19th at 3:30 p.m. in New Haven, Conn. The match will mark their second in GNAC play and gives the Falcons a chance to earn their first conference win of the 2012 campaign.
