The University of St. Joseph's Blue Jays (4-4, 1-1 GNAC) blanked the Falcons Wednesday afternoon in women's tennis action in West Hartford, Conn.  The Falcons got off to a promising start in the first doubles' match as Zaida Velazco (Dominican Republic) and Malika Grant (Brooklyn, N.Y.) stormed to a 4-1 lead. The Blue Jays' Lisa Wawrzynowski and Emma Allen bounced back to win the match 8-6 as the Blue Jays took all three doubles matches.

Velazco started well in the singles match, winning the first set 6-4. Once again, the Blue Jays rebounded from a shaky start as Allen won the next two sets taking the match over Velazco in a close battle.

Senior Sandybell Anorga (Stamford, Conn.) battled well with opponent Amanda Willhoft losing only 6-4 in the first set and 6-3 in the second set.

Albertus falls to 0-4 in the GNAC and 2-6 overall with the loss.

The Falcons look to rebound in a non-conference match against Post University October 13th at 1:00. The match will be held at the Celentano Courts in New Haven, Conn.
