The Albertus Magnus women's tennis team fell to Anna Maria College 8-1 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play on Friday afternoon in New Haven.
Zaida Velazco won the only match for the Falcons as she won No. 1 singles after an injury forced the AMCats Jessica Gautieri to forfeit the match when she trailed 4-3 in the opening set.
Velazco's victory came after Anna Maria swept doubles' play with a pair of 8-1 victories in No. 1 and No. 3 doubles' action and an 8-2 win in No. 2 doubles.
Today's contest also served as the final home match for Albertus as the Falcons honored their three seniors: Renita Moore, Malika Grant and Sogona Sacko.
The Falcons will face Johnson & Wales (R.I.) on Tuesday to conclude the 2014 regular season.
