Women's Tennis Player Kelsea Wildman Named to GNAC All-Sportsmanship Team

Winthrop, Mass. – Albertus Magnus College junior women's tennis player Kelsea Wildman (Hamden, Conn.) has been named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) All-Sportsmanship Team as announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon.

Albertus Magnus ended the season with a loss to in-state rival St. Joseph (Conn.) in the opening round of the GNAC Tournament. The Falcons closed the autumn with a 5-7 overall record and qualified as the No. 5 seed in the GNAC Tournament thanks to posting a 2-4 in league matches. Wildman had another quality year for the team, competing both at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles and No. 4 singles.

Wildman tied for second on the team with five singles victories, including straight-set wins in league action against players from Anna Maria and Mount Ida. In singles play, she had a pair of two-match winning streaks and she ended the regular season with a resounding 6-1, 6-1 win against New Rochelle on Senior Day.

In doubles play, she saw action at both No. 1 and No. 2 with two different partners. All three of her wins came at No. 2 with freshman Izzy Sabino (Cheshire, Conn.). She won her first two matches of the fall, including an 8-5 triumph against the AMCATS in GNAC play.

Founded in 1995, the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) is an NCAA Division III association made up of 12 member institutions, 12 associate member institutions, and over 3,000 student-athletes across the New England region. Each year, the GNAC sponsors and administers 17 championships, while balancing academic integrity, athletic opportunities and community involvement.
